Apple released the iPhone 15 Pro in September 2023 as its first Pro iPhone with a titanium design, USB-C and the A17 Pro chip. At launch, most of the headlines focused on its gaming performance and the move away from the original Apple Lightning port.
It was also the first iPhone generation to replace the old Ring/Silent switch with the Action Button. That small button became one of the most talked-about changes at launch. Some people missed the simplicity of the old mute switch, while others liked being able to set one button for the camera, torch, voice memo or other feature. It was a small design change, but it made the Pro models feel more customisable than older iPhones.

In 2026, the iPhone 15 Pro is remembered as the compact Pro iPhone that brought USB-C, the Action Button and Apple Intelligence support into a smaller, high-end iPhone. For these reasons, it’s still a great phone.
