Connectivity (WiFi and Signal)

iPhone won't connect to a mobile network

Step 1 — Quick reset

  • Turn Airplane Mode on for 15 seconds, then off

  • Restart your iPhone

Step 2 — Check the SIM or eSIM

  • If you use a physical SIM, remove it, check for damage, and reseat it

  • Test the SIM in another phone, or contact your network to confirm it's active and not blocked

Step 3 — Check for a carrier settings update

  • Connect to Wi-Fi

  • Go to Settings → General → About

  • If an update prompt appears, tap Update — carrier updates can fix connection issues

Step 4 — Reset Network Settings

This clears saved Wi-Fi networks, passwords, VPN settings, and mobile network settings. It's the most thorough software fix available.

Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings

Still not working?

At that point it's usually one of two things: a network issue your carrier can confirm, or a device fault that needs proper testing. Signal faults can also take up to 48 hours to diagnose properly, so we run extended testing in-house when needed.

Every device we send out has its connectivity verified through Phonecheck before dispatch, so if signal issues appear after delivery, contact us first and we'll work through it with you.

Signal or Wi-Fi keeps dropping

Try these in order — they fix most drop-outs.

  • Toggle Airplane Mode on for 15 seconds, then off

  • Restart your iPhone

  • Restart your router: power off for 30 seconds, then back on

  • Forget and rejoin your Wi-Fi network: Settings → Wi-Fi → tap the ⓘ next to your network → Forget This Network → reconnect

  • If you use a VPN or security app, switch it off and retest — these often interfere with connection stability

  • Reset Network Settings as a last step (this clears saved Wi-Fi passwords): Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings

If mobile data is dropping as well as Wi-Fi, test your SIM in another phone and check with your network for outages in your area.

Send it back if

  • Signal drops happen on mobile data and Wi-Fi, across multiple locations, after a restart and a network settings reset

  • You get no signal at all in areas where you'd normally have coverage, and your SIM works in another phone
