Conditions

What do the conditions mean?

There's no standardised condition system across the refurbished industry — descriptions vary from seller to seller, which makes comparing phones confusing. Below is exactly what each condition means when you buy from us. We believe we have the best condition devices on the market, and we grade strictly, so what you receive matches what you expect.

Every device across all conditions has been fully tested, data wiped, sanitised, and comes with a 12-month warranty as standard.

Like New

Best for gifting

  • No cosmetic marks — looks essentially new

  • Minimum battery health: 100%

  • 90+ point quality check, fully working

  • Data wiped and sanitised

  • May come in original packaging (not guaranteed)

  • 12-month warranty

Pristine

Best value

  • Very light signs of use — most of the phone looks spot-on

  • Minimum battery health: 85%

  • 90+ point quality check, fully working

  • Data wiped and sanitised

  • 12-month warranty

Very Good

Best all-rounder

  • Light signs of use

  • Any marks on the screen are usually hard to notice with the screen on

  • Minimum battery health: 85%

  • 90+ point quality check, fully working

  • Data wiped and sanitised

  • 12-month warranty

Good

Budget friendly

  • Medium signs of use — cosmetic marks are expected

  • Minimum battery health: 85%

  • 90+ point quality check, fully working

  • Data wiped and sanitised

  • 12-month warranty

Buying refurbished for the first time?

Like New or Pristine gives you the best first experience. Very Good is a strong all-rounder if you want a lower price without compromising on function. Good is the right call if condition doesn't matter to you and you want the best value on the spec.

"The condition of my device looks wrong"

There's no standardised condition system in the refurbished industry — which is part of the problem. We grade strictly, but cosmetic assessment always involves some judgement. Here's what each condition should look like in practice:

  • Like New — should look essentially mint, no visible marks

  • Pristine — may have tiny, barely noticeable signs of use

  • Very Good — light marks, usually only visible with the screen off

  • Good — marks are visible and expected

If your device doesn't match the condition you bought, here's what to do:

  • Take a few clear photos in good light — screen off, back, and sides

  • Contact our support team and we'll sort it

"My screen protector or back protector is missing"

We fit a thin hydrogel protector to every device. It's designed to be nearly invisible, so most customers assume it isn't there — in most cases, it is.

How to check (30 seconds)

  • Hold the phone under a bright light and tilt it — look at the screen edges and back for a faint outline

  • Run your fingernail lightly along the edge of the screen or back — you'll usually feel a small step where the film ends

  • Check around the camera cut-out on the back — the film edge is often easiest to spot there

If you still can't find it

Don't try to peel anything off to check — hydrogel lifts if you pick at the edge and won't re-adhere cleanly.

Send us your order number and a couple of photos (screen off and back, in good light) and we'll confirm it for you.
