Samsung phones need testing that goes beyond the basics, because the features people rely on most (AMOLED screens, cameras, charging ports, fingerprint sensors, foldable hinges) are exactly the kind of things that show wear first. Every grade is fully functional. The difference is cosmetic condition only, and Samsung grading needs a bit more explanation than most brands: a small scratch on a matt Galaxy S back is barely noticeable, but the same mark on a glossy A-series back shows more.

AMOLED screen condition — checked for burn-in, brightness, colour consistency, touch response, fingerprint accuracy and pressure marks, especially important on older Galaxy S and Note models.
Battery health and charging — a Samsung may have launched with a big battery, but real-world battery life depends on how it's actually been used and charged, not the spec sheet.
