We pay on the same day items pass testing, or 2-5 days if your items are damaged or BER as we will perform vigorous testing so that we can identify any parts that may be reusable, this is so we can offer you the best price possible.

If you reject our offer we will send items back via UPS or a courier of your choice. you may be responsible for postage charges for the return of your items.

There's no gain in sending items - like a case, external storage device, or wireless mouse - when selling your laptop to us. These items are considered 'supplementary' and add no cash value to your order. If you send such items in error, we may not be able to return them - if we can't, they'll be disposed of in the most responsible, sustainable way possible.

What if I want to sell my laptop and it isn't listed on your website?

If you're selling your laptop and it isn't listed on our website, don't worry... All you need to do is fill in our 'Request a Valuation' form and we'll get a valuation for your laptop back to you within 48 hours.

The form can be found on our website. You'll also notice that when it comes to 'condition', there's a few more categories - but they still fall largely into New, Good, Poor and Broken!

How can I sell my old laptop to The Big Phone Store?

  1. Find the product page. Using the search bar, begin typing the make and model of the laptop you want to sell. If it's not in our catalogue, use our 'Request a Valuation' form.

  2. Place your order. Once on the correct product page, fill out our valuation calculator and get an instant quote for your laptop. Then it's just a case of choosing a designated bank account and providing us with a few personal details.

  3. Send your laptop. Within 24 hours, we'll send out our Welcome Pack. It contains everything you need to complete your order - including Freepost packing instructions. Remember to only send the laptop and any power cables.

  4. We check your order. As soon as your package arrives, we'll send an email to confirm. We then check over your laptop and see whether the 'condition', etc. are as you indicated. If there are any issues, we'll get in touch.

Can I sell my broken laptop?

You can sell your laptop if it's 'broken' - but not all 'broken' devices can be traded-in for cash at The Big Phone Store. In the first instance, take a look at our criteria for a 'broken' laptop. If yours meets these conditions, it definitely qualifies for an unbeatable cash payment!

And if you're ever unsure, select 'broken' before sending your laptop to us. We'll then inspect it and - if it's fixable - you'll get a great price! If not, we'll send it back to you (you may liable for postage costs), or we can always recycle it for free!

Can I sell my damaged laptop if it can't be repaired?

Unfortunately, we offer no cash value if you want to sell your laptop and it's broken or damaged beyond repair. In this case, we recommend recycling it with us and doing your bit for the planet!

Our recycling service is completely free and ensures that your old device will be disposed of according to guidance set out by the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive, the Environmental Protection Act (1990) and Hazardous Waste Regulations (2005).
