How to Remove iCloud From My Device

REMOVING YOUR iCLOUD ACCOUNT

Option 1 — Remove iCloud/Apple Account on the device

Most iPhones (modern iOS)

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap your name

  3. Tap Find My

  4. Tap Find My iPhone

  5. Switch it off

  6. Enter your Apple Account password and tap Turn Off

  7. Go back to Settings → your name

  8. Scroll down and tap Sign Out

  9. Enter your Apple Account password and confirm Sign Out

Important: do this before you erase or restore the iPhone.

Older iPhones (iOS 10.2 or earlier)

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap iCloud

  3. Scroll down and tap Sign Out

  4. Enter your Apple ID password and confirm Turn Off

  5. If prompted, choose Delete from My iPhone

  6. Also sign out of the Store:

    • Settings → iTunes & App Store → Apple ID → Sign Out

Important: do this before you erase or restore the iPhone.

Option 2 — Remove the iCloud account remotely (PC or laptop)

  1. Sign in at Apple’s Find My page (iCloud Find)

  2. Open Find Devices

  3. Select your device (and erase it if possible)

  4. Choose Remove This Device / Remove from Account (the wording can vary)

  5. Confirm the removal
