Creating folders on your iPhone is a brilliant way to tidy up your home screen, it can look a mess when you have downloaded loads of apps! If you create a folder, you can group particular apps into that folder making it more accessible and easier to navigate, we’ve all struggled to find an app on our home screen before. It helps reduce the searching time you do on your iPhone looking for those pesky apps.

While creating folders isn’t blatantly obvious, it is very easy to do! Follow the steps below to create folders and group apps on your iPhone;
  1. To start you will need to pick at least two apps that you want to put into a folder
  2. Tap and hold one of the chosen apps until the apps start shaking and get the little ‘x’ sign
  3. Drag and hold the chosen app over the other chosen app
  4. The apps will merge into each other, let go of the screen when this happens
  5. Depending on your iOS:
  6. iOS4-6 will see two apps and a name across a strip on the screen
  7. iOS7 and higher will show the folder taking up the whole screen with a suggested name
You can edit the folder do the following;
  1. Tap and hold on an existing folder until it begins to shake
  2. Tap it again and the folder will open
  3. Edit the name by tapping on the text part of the folder
  4. Add more apps by dragging them onto/into the folder
  5. Press the home button (swipe on iPhone X) to save the changes
You remove apps currently in a folder do the following;
  1. Tap and hold a folder you want to remove an app/s from
  2. When shaking, tap the folder
  3. Drag the chosen app/s out of the folder and back onto the home screen
  4. Press the home button (swipe on iPhone X) to save the changes

If you remove all of the apps out of a folder, it will delete the folder.
