Apple unveiled a new iPad at its educational special event.

Apple has released it’s new affordable iPad yet, the new iPad 2018. Targeted towards students and schools, it can still be brought by the public, with a starting release price of £319, it is the same as last year but students get up to £30 off!

The new iPad features the A10 fusion chipset, this offers 40% better performance and it is 50% better at GPU tasks than the A9 chipset in last years iPad. The new chipset also gives a very fast performance and the capabilities to edit 4K videos easily.

The screen size of the iPad is 9.7-inches with an unchanged resolution of 1536 x 2049 pixels. The design is the same, apart from the new gold colour and the hardware from last years model stays the same; 8MP rear camera, 1.2MP front camera, compass, gyroscope and accelerometer.

The dimensions of the new iPad are 240 x 7.5 x 169.5 mm and it weighs only 470 grams!

One of the biggest talking points is its compatibility with the Apple pencil, the new affordable iPad can use the Apple pencil giving more people the opportunity to use the pencil due to its affordability. The Apple pencil allows you to draw on almost everything on your iPad and offers a unique tool that can be used in a variety of different ways.

This new iPad offers a great package for students and is another entry into the more affordable sector, perfect for people who cannot afford the iPad pro. The device itself is a good upgrade from last year especially with Apple Pen support and the A10 chipset!
